On this page you will find a complete list and brief description of the features that MyChart offers patients at OHSU. Also on this page you will find information about upcoming and past updates for MyChart.

Features - Updates

Features

Proxy Access (My Access to Others):
Proxy access allows you to access another patient's MyChart account. Proxy access can be used for parents who would like access to their children's records, or for adult patients wishing to grant access to other adults. As a proxy you can take advantage of MyChart's features as if you were that person. In order to gain proxy access for your children, you must make this request in person upon checking-in for one of their outpatient visits. If the child is under the age of 15 the staff will be able to grant you proxy access. However, if the child is 15 years of age (or older) you and your child will need to complete the release of information form provided by the front desk staff. Once you have completed this form, the staff will be able to grant you proxy access to their records using MyChart. Similarly, adults wishing to grant proxy access to other adults will need to complete the release of information form before the proxy access can be granted.

Health Information (My Health Record):
The health information that you are able to view using MyChart is pulled directly from your electronic health record here at OHSU. The health information that you can view using MyChart is listed below. In addition to your health information you can view information about a recent outpatient visit. For each outpatient visit you can view a summary report, which contains information like vital signs, patient intructions, etc.

    Test Results*
* In order to view your test results, they must be released to you by your healthcare provider. In addition, there are a small number of test results that are not viewable in MyChart, due to how they are resulted in our system.

Appointment Scheduling/Viewing/Cancellation (My Appointments):
Using MyChart you can schedule, view, and cancel upcoming appointments. Specifically, MyChart allows you to schedule outpatients appointments with providers that you have previously seen here at OHSU. If the provider that you are trying to schedule an appointment with is not listed, or if there are no available appointments for the dates/times that you specified, you can request an appointment. Also you can view the details of your upcoming appointments. For example you can view appointment related information pertaining to directions, telephone number, instructions, etc. Lastly, if needed, you can cancel an upcoming appointment using MyChart.

Secure Communication (My Secure Mailbox):
MyChart allows you to send and receive secure messages from your outpatient healthcare providers, and clinical staff, here at OHSU. As a patient, MyChart will allow you to send secure messages to providers that you have seen in the last 2 years.

OHSU Account Information (My OHSU Account):
MyChart also allows you to view information about your patient accounts. You can pay your OHSU Medical Group bills with a credit card, view and update your address and phone numbers, and view your basic health insurance information (Payor, Plan, Member Number, and Effective Date).

MyChart Account Information (My MyChart Account):
You can also update your email address, notification preferences for appointment related messages (You will always receive notification of user, and new test result, messages.), and change your OHSU MyChart password.

Help (Help):
MyChart also offers a way for you to ask technical questions, get help, and offer feedback by sending a message to the MyChart Help Desk.

Updates

Here you can find information about past updates for MyChart.

Automatically releasing test results

We are now automatically releasing test results after 4 or 14 days, depending upon the test result.

Adding an After Visit Summary for Admissions

We will be adding an after visit summary for your recent admissions. Previously, we only listed the discharge instructions that were entered for the admission. The after visit summary for admissions can be viewed under the My Health Record > Recent Admission menu option.

Preventive Care Reminder Messages for Mammograms

We will now be sending reminder messages for mammograms. If you are due soon, or overdue, for a mammogram you will receive a system generated MyChart message. This message will provide a link to the page in MyChart where you can take necessary action, either requesting an appointment or informing us that you have received a mammogram outside of OHSU. In addition to mammograms, we will be sending out reminders for additional preventive care in the near future.

Download Health Summary in a Continuity of Care Document format

We have added a new link under My Health Record which allows you to download your health summary in a Continuity of Care Document (CCD) format. The CCD contains your: Allergies, Current Medications, Current Health Issues, Test Results and Immunizations as you see them in MyChart. You can put this information on a USB drive and you can take it with you wherever you go. Give it to other organizations where you're seen for care and you won't have to rely on your memory anymore.

Pop up warning before your Mychart session times out

We have added a pop-up warning that will inform you that your MyChart session is about to time out. The pop up will display 60 seconds before your session times out. Depending upon your pop up settings on your Internet browser, you may need to accept pop ups from the MyChart web site.

Add Attachments to Medical Advice Messages

We will be adding the ability to add attachments to the medical advice messages that you send to your healthcare providers. The types of documents/images that can be attached include (files ending in): .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .pdf, .tif, .tiff. In addition, each document that is attached cannot exceed 5MB.

Changes to the My Health Record menu

We will be adding new links for Current Health Issues, Medications, Allergies, and Preventive Care Reminders under the My Health Record menu. However, all of this information can still be viewed in your Health Summary. We will also be adding a new Vital Signs link under the My Health Record menu where you can view, chart, and graph your vital signs.

Recent Emergency Department visits will be available on the Recent Visits page under My Health Record

We will also be making your recent ED visits viewable in MyChart. To access the information about a recent ED visit go the to the Recent Visits page under My Health Record.

Adding Growth Charts

We will be adding a Growth Charts page under My Health Record. If you have proxy access to a child's account you will first need to access their account from the My Access to Others page. Once you have proxied into the child's account you can then view the Growth Charts under My Health Record.

Adding Recent Admission to My Health Record

We will be adding a Recent Admissions page under My Health Record. On this page you will see a list of past hospital admissions, which include: the date(s) you were admitted and discharged and the unit to which you were admitted. Also, if you click on an admission you can view the discharge instructions that were given to you.
